For instance, I’ve been able to quickly extract and understand visual content from exam papers. However, it falls short in solving intricate mathematical problems, which is where ChatGPT comes into play.

With a limited number of uses available on Gemini 3 Pro, I’ve turned to ChatGPT Plus for its powerful thinking mode. This feature allows me to obtain detailed explanations for mathematical problems, effectively turning ChatGPT into a free tutoring service.

The Workflow

Here’s how I’ve structured my study routine with these tools:

Upload the PDF to Gemini 3 Thinking: This step involves scanning the exam paper for any visual content.
Detailed Explanation and Summary: Ask Gemini for a comprehensive explanation and summary of the problems, equations, and graphs.
Transfer to ChatGPT: Copy the summarized problems and paste them into ChatGPT to get further explanations.
Leveraging ChatGPT’s Strengths: Since ChatGPT excels in calculations and understanding described content but struggles with image recognition, I rely on it for solving mathematical problems after they’ve been described to it.
