Gemini CLI now supports the Gemini 2.5 Flash Image Preview model, with CLIProxyAPI being the first to adapt. This means NanoBanana is now free to use. Here are the results of using it on Cherry. If you want to learn how to enjoy unlimited bananas, check out this tutorial: Hand-by-hand guide to using the AI magic tool - CLIProxyAPI (Part 2: Gemini CLI + Codex practical application). It's important to note the following points:

  • Cherry Studio is not suitable for continuous dialogue image editing because it does not include images in the context (at least in version 1.6.2).
  • For continuous dialogue image editing in Cherry Studio, you can currently use Gemini Web in CLIProxyAPI (you can see the tutorial).
  • In Cherry Studio, please use the Gemini endpoint; using OpenAI will result in errors because the official has restricted the model from using the thinking parameter.
  • Currently, using the models in the Gemini CLI for drawing does not have a watermark.
